I just started a new job as a level 1 tech support. It's a large shop with alot of techs and about 1500 users. Probably under 400 windows servers, mostly all virtual. Server 2008 domain. There are some issues that crop up because we don't have a group policy owner. Should I offer to own group policy? I don't know alot about it but I'm sure I can learn it. I'm sure there's a reason none of the sys admins or the techs want to be the GP owner. I don't mind a challenge but I also don't want to hang myself in the first year at a great company with a great team. If I am successful with GP I'd get promoted faster I'm sure. Any GP veterans care to weigh in?
