Ask SysIt: Has anyone used the Brick Wall surge protector and is it worth it?

So we had a fire at a local power station and it fried a UPS and a disk controller on the other side of the UPS. We're looking into upgrading our little NOC and I stumbled upon the Brick Wall. I was wondering a few things:

• Have you deployed these? Are they as effective as they claim? Are they better than other surge protectors?

• Have you deployed these with a UPS after it? Are there any problems with running a UPS with these?

• Is it worth the investment? Is there high defect or failure rate?

Any advice on these is appreciated as well as alternatives that I might consider.
