I just finished putting together a Lion Server 10.7.2 with Profile Manager as a Mobile Device Management server to manage iPads remotely. It was very clunky getting Lion Server to play with Active Directory and I'm chalking that up to cross platform LDAP. It works reasonably well for what we need but I'd like to bring it under the Microsoft roof so I can throw it on a VM.
I looked briefly at using the System Center 2012 beta but we could not get it to install correctly in time and so we went with Lion.
Has anyone else put an MDM server together? What did you use and would you describe your experience?
