My current deployment of thin clients WYSE 3150se are up for replacement next year. I'm looking for a new model to put out and need my fellow admins' support.
My current environment is a cluster of physical WS 2003 terminal servers, upgrading to virtual 2008r2 terminal servers next year.
The thin client will need to be able to support RDP 7, dual displays (analog output option would be great), display rotation (tall skinny display for documents), serial port, and central management of configurations.
My wants are usb forwarding, this gets a little tricky. Management wants to get webcams for video conferencing, but we also have to block other usb devices. I'm currently using Symantec EP to block usb devices by type, but that's only for windows boxes.
I'm currently testing a WYSE R10L, but I'm not sure how I feel about the wyse thisOS. Does anyone have experience with embedded versions of windows?
I also tested an HP T5565, but it's not able to rotate the rdp session.
Thanks r/sysadmin, I owe you one.
