I've been tasked with developing a solution to be able to scan inside files on my file servers for a specific word. This is a few petabytes of data spread out across 15+ windows OS file servers. My team and I have created a VBS script that recursively searches through files and opens files to scan, however this solution takes far too long for even one server. I'm starting to look into 3rd party tools now. I'm seeing a few applications, for single workstation type stuff. Nothing on an Enterprise level like I'm looking for. Has anyone had to do anything like this? Any fresh ideas on applications to try would be much appreciated.
TL;DR - I need a better solution to scan multiple PB of data on multiple file servers for a keyword.
