Logging into domain is faster if user has admin rights

On our domain we've noticed a strange pattern. Whenever we log in to any of the client machines using our administrative accounts, it is significantly faster (1/2 the time) than logging in as a regular user. Not only does it log in instantly, but most programs open up quicker, too.

We're trying this on Windows 7, but the same pattern occurred when running Windows XP. The AD server is Windows Server 2003.

Does windows make programs run by administrators run at a higher priority? Could it be something with group policy? Maybe its because the servers are at high load and administrator requests get priority on the AD server?

Any thoughts would be great!
