Hi guys, My role has changed and part of it is monitoring and reporting server properties. Things on the report include perfmon output, which I have to painstakingly copy the raw data into excel spreadsheets and convert it to graphs, and other stuff which is easy to just grab manually, like HDD space left, Exchange mailbox sixes, etc. I know that Perfmon creates graphs by default as it logs (ours are daily) but for some reason it looks like the guys I give the reports to want a daily breakdown of graphs for whatever we're monitoring e.g. CPU, disk usage etc. in one file, rather than a whole bunch of files.
So, does anyone know how tweak-able perfmon files (i.e. the reports) are? Can anyone suggest a good guide? Anything to save me from hours of copy pasting and editing.
I've also thought about third party monitoring software because Perfmon itself seems to crap out and its output is not consistent e.g. skips whole days, creates multiple entries etc.Any suggestions here?
The other option is Nagios -we have Nagios set up for another couple of clients, monitoring the usuals - but can Nagios create output like graphs for reports?
Ideas, comments, suggestions all welcome.
