Who would you hire?

If you had to hire a fellow sysadmin, would you rather choose a grad student with a masters of IS with no field experience or an 18 year old who has created his own VM farm? Edit: Many of you have been asked for more information about the candidates. This is a question of practical experience versus theorical knowledge. Which one would be more desired in the real world. This has always been a question looming over my head if I really should have gone to college or just created my own lab at home. I have built my own little server farm at home for some networking testing & other projects. However, most of what I have learned have come from the experience I gained via google and doing it myself. All of the knowledge from college has been wonderful to have but nothing has been tangible to apply to the jobs I have had.

It's been great to see a mix of answers and no one clear solution!
