I use an AKCP sensorprobe2, 2 digital thermos and an analog min/max radial thermo to measure and log temperature and humidity.
I have been noticing the temps rising since late august, and in the meantime received a bunch of new hw: 2x Dell r610, 1x Dell md3220, 2x Dell 1920w UPS. HVAC vendor blamed it on the new equip, but I could prove via log that temps were going wonky 2 weeks before new hw arrived. Not just during peak times, randomly throughout the day and night, with new hw powered on or off.
I ended up doing a BTU calc for every piece of equipment to prove that my 9,822 BTU equip should not be overwhelming a 15,000 BTU unit.
Long story short, they found two leaks in my unit, extracting only 12oz of charge. Manufacturer spec is 39oz, meaning my AC unit was operating with less than a third charge, and barely able to keep up. As I type, I'm watching the temp drop and will need to turn the thermostat UP a few degrees. :D
TL;DR After 4 visits, HVAC vendor begrudgingly fixed AC unit. Log so you can predict and prove!
Yay no more 2am txts!
