How do you deal with in-house website log analysis?

Google Analytics is not an option for us for policy reasons. Currently we run cronolog on the webservers so that we have daily log files. I have a log server that copies the daily log files to the central server via scp and then runs them through awstats. This is a bit ancient and kind of nasty because if a nightly copy misses for some reason awstats is not good about inserting missing historical data. What are you using to aggregate and analyze web logs? Also, each site owner needs to have access to only their own site. We currently do that by running the logs through grep and then running the grepped logs through awstats separately, so they get their own awstats page. Apache on RHEL5/6.
