Im looking for a border gateway router or switch that has the capability to split the isp link to two different data centers. Basically the router would do nothing but split the incoming connection (fiber gig link) from the isp to two firewalls. Its sort of just relaying the link from the isp into two firewalls (one is active and the other one is passive).
I was looking at a cisco 2901 with two hwic gig cards (HWIC-1GE-SFP). The 2901 already has two integrated gig ports.
Can anyone give me some other suggestions or maybe let me know this is not the best way to do this? Should I look into layer 3 switches also?
