SBS 2008 vs current Linux setup

When I took this job all servers were linux I have learned alot but I don't really feel linux is the right fit for me. I am a solo IT so I need things more centrally managed. So(from the advice for some of you all) I got started setting up a Domain with SBS2008.(had workgroups before) Then I realized hey this SBS is really powerful and I should use it. Here is my situation. Around 40 employees. 1 main office, 2-3 remote offices.....Remote offices have a Linux box with rsync that acts as a file server back to main file server. These remote people have laptops but can't change the data unless they are in the remote office so its view only in the field. Its a mess of emailing these files...ect. In the main office files reside on spare drives on workstations and are accessed by users. Also email is still pop3 I want to use the exchange server but can't have down time(so I was looking at Message Continuity from Postini for this problem). Also the VP hates outlook and has told me he has to use Thunderbird....Can I even get exchange running on thunderbird??? So I want to put all these files on the SBS. So I see using the remote.xxx.net in SBS seems like I can have shared documents and divvy them out to users? They could log in from anywhere and have access to the files and their email? That would be perfect. Would I need Server2008 boxes at the remote location or would the SBS handle all that....the thought of one box taking the whole thing down is a little scary. I will have a second Server 2008 at the main office to have AD redundancy. Any tip on making a company such as this flow smoothly? Tools I should be utilizing in SBS...ect. Many Thanks
