First, lets just clear the air right away. Printers can suck a dick.
Now that that is out of the way, how does one control print costs? We are locked into a printer service contract for another year and the overages are really painful. Other than written policy, is there a good way to monitor and control printing? We use Server 2003 with the print server role on our backup domain controller. We use mainly HP printers. We have a 2 xerox's, but they do not cost me nearly as much as the 15 HP's scattered about my org.
Any Suggestions?
